Alyssa & Erica’s Country “Sugar Shack” Wedding
Posted on 03 March 2017
We actually didn’t meet Alyssa and Erica until the evening of their rehearsal, but we had built up a great relationship with them via SKYPE as they were planning their wedding from Boston and it was so exciting to finally meet them at Alyssa’s Parents property in Knowlton.
This property was just gorgeous with “Sugar Shack” and more…… For the ceremony Hay Bales were set up with covers facing the view of the mountains and a beautiful arch and the couple walked down the aisle together with their parent & family member. The ceremony was also conducted by one of their close friends.
Guest then danced their way to the tent where they enjoyed a wonderful cocktail hour while overlooking the beautiful landscape.
Alyssa, Erica and their Mum’s were very hands on for the wedding, and they really wanted a country wedding and this is exactly what they got. Alyssa’s mother actually ‘made’ yes…. ‘made’ all the beautiful wooden tables and antique chairs mix n match were rented in from a local antique shop! The table of honor was a double table and we really loved the 2 maple buckets which had been molded into the table to create ice buckets for the beer & wine!!
Small plants and lighting created the centre pieces with Green Wine Bottle creating the table numbers. The style of the wedding really was to be relaxed and food was served “Family Style” with an Italian Menu, and open wine on the tables for guests to help themselves
They even had a sign post with all the places that their guest had travelled from and of course a “Poutine” sign to highlight the midnight table later in the evening. Guest were also given a large bottle of family Maple Syrup to enjoy as their favors.
At 10.30 pm guests were invited outside for a Firework display and then guest danced under the stars to the sounds of Mucik Production!
