Nathalie Antat & Jean-Francois OlivierWedding
Saturday 11th April 2015
St Viateur Church, Outrement & Le Madison Reception Hall, St-Leonard
Nathalie and Jean-Francois contacted us in mid-December to plan their wedding with them for the following April, as they work long hours and shiftwork in the ER and were looking to have 200 guests we were very happy to start supporting them straight away!!
We are seeing a lot more couples taking advantage of the day time and doing the “First Look” pictures before the meet at the church… this is a great option for couples don’t mind breaking with tradition and maximising their time so that they can really enjoy the cocktail hour and mingle with the guests! The weather was beautiful and the couple spent time in the Old Port of Montreal taking some great shots!
They selected the St-Viateur Church in Outremont for their Catholic ceremony and we kept the décor to a minimum with just 2 large pedestal arrangements at the altar and a unity candle for them to light. Most of Nathalie’s family are still living in the Seychelles, but she walked down the aisle on the arm of her brother. On this occasion Nathalie has both a “man” of honor as well as a “maid” of honor and her new step-daughter was the flower girl!
Afterwards guests arrive at Le Madison in St-Leonard and were greeting by the couple through a receiving line to a magnificent array of food stations…. Meats, cheeses, bread, duck, shell fish, sushi, and my favourite the Risotto bar!! During the cocktail hour we had a great duo of Sax & keyboard, and what I loved about this team was that Joey the Sax Player, walked around playing his Sax throughout the evening!
Myself and my Butler, Christian were both recruited to be the bi-lingual Master of Ceremonies for the night and we welcomed the couple into the room to a “Creole Wedding March” and then the couple continued with their first dance…
The décor in the room was very elegant in White & Silver and we also kept very neutral with the flowers. The couple had a table of honor for 4, just the two of them and their two children which we draped and covered in flowers and candles and added a couple of lanterns on the floor. We also bought in a couple of special chairs from Joes Prop House for the Bride & Groom.
Guests dined on a sumptuous feast of a 5 course menu while a slideshow of the couples engagement pictures played on a big screen. One special dance that took place was for the grooms parents who were celebrating 44 years of marriage and I think it is such a lovely idea to bring in something meaningful like this to be part of your wedding celebrations.
Later in the evening of course there was an extensive midnight ‘food stations’ including desserts, cakes, poutine, smoked meat & mini burgers… I am sure they didn’t eat for a week afterwards! But lucky for the guests they had DJ Eddie Lewis to help them dance the night away and burn off a few of those calories!!
